General qubo launch event

There's a "nice" green one (Disco Green to give it it's official title) at pretty much every dealership, as that was the launch colour that we were all sent by Fiat in December and told to register as a demonstrator.

I drove ours for the first time a few weeks ago, and it's surprisingly good, even with the 1.3. Well-equipped, well built, well priced and not quite as ugly as you first think after 7 or 8 glasses of decent red wine :D

Makes me wonder why Fiat are continuing with the Doblo as well now though

I haven't driven it, but all the reports are good and it looks great and is a joy to sit in. Trouble is, it isn't really that well priced. The only one I like is the top model Diesel, which has A/C and otherwise decent spec. However, it has electric mirrors - why - expensive and unnecessary; and apparently overhead storage - so useful - will be extra. And the price of over £13,000 is about £3000 more than it should be with that gutless 75 bhp engine. Now, give it the 1.6 Diesel, or the engines promised by Fiat in 2009/10, and it will be a decent deal.

Another problem is that the Citroen C3 Picasso does pretty much all the same stuff with decent performance, a far better seat arrangement and a price only a few hundred more. Higher tax though (n)

No, the Qubo is great, but as so often with Fiat the launch model comes under-engined. In 2010 the one to have will doubtless arrive.
