We are about to start working on my girlfriends punto engine. The car is a 75sx fourdoor (for the kids) from 1999 (mk1). She really loves the car. The inside and outside are beginning to look really good, but the engine power sucks.

The engine has been really good over the years. Smooth and we have never had any problem with it except blowing a headgasket some years ago. But after she has driven my Volvo 855R all last summer, se now complains about the power or lack of power... Even if the car looks fast, it's not. The old Hondas in town are playing with us and now its time to build a new "summer" engine for the car.

I have located a identical engine from a 75sx punto. I have bought a brand new mini cooper eaton M45 supercharger :devil: (got it cheap as hell). And i have some ideas how to take it from here but need advice, hints etc.

* Can i get the original MPI injection to work with supercharger setup if I mod it?

* I have thought about shaving the pistons and get the cylinderhead worked on. And do a really proffesional engine rebuilding. What should i upgrade?

* Will the engine block be able to handle it?

* Anyone who has done it already?


Please guide me and my girl towards happines! The car is not gonna be drived like a maniac, but must work properly.
