Hey guys, few questions in one thread.. hope i can get a decent answer been 'pondering' these for a while.

First off, the centre console on most mk1 SX models is in two parts, hense why i'm gonna change from 'centre console' to 'centre' for these questions.
my questions are,

the 2 parts , being the bit around the gear and bit around the handbrake, could i somehow design something to join the two? like maybe a small can holder or something... to make the two 'centre parts' into an actual centre console - useful.

second question, what can I actually use to spray these bits with? looking for dark blue, not ugly looking grey

third question, the gearstick itself. is it safe to cut it down a bit? its too long for my liking lol. its just like 25~cm of metal before it gets to anything useful. i drive my mums Zafira all the time, and it had a 9cm gearstick and it feels so much better.

Anyhoo, thats all for now. few more to get answered but i'll get passed they milestones first!

cutting the gearknob down is fine, i did it to my old 75, and i can tell you now, i wont be cutting my sporting's down, i think its better being normal height.

spray, well plastic primer, any spray paint, then lacquer.


buy a proper centre console -

where can i actually buy one? didnt know it was possible to get them lol... looks cool, think i'll do that and make a custom gaitor for it.

Beau, where is the gear lever on the 1st pric? All i see is a bag lol... How much did you cut it? And the 2nd pic... so original place for exaust

well iv got one for sale both parts are different colours i think, but if your spraying it... then...

exhaust is inside cos i fitted a new one, had no where to put old one lol

and that had about 2-3 inches cut off i think.

i'll definately think about it, but i'm kinda a self-do person so if all else fails i'll defo buy.

tbh man, so do i lol - it probably will turn out a huge mess but nothing wrong with giving it a shot lol. also, i dont mind if its a mess. can always buy one
in saying that... i redesigned the boot (was easier.. nothing but carper and mdf lol)

Look at the dates and use ebay as they suggested.

Would you still happen to have a centre console? and if yes would you consider sending to Malta?, I probably (99.9%) won't find it at a local scrapyard since punto gt's and abarth versions are as rare as Ferrari's
