Following on from my previous thread in an attempt to track down the problem with my M-reg 1.1 Punto SX; I am now suspicious of the Injectors. When I turn the ignition on I get a red injector icon flashing up for a few secconds to the right hand side of the dash. A friend of mine was sure that this light was supposed to be amber.

Anyone tell me if this is the norm or if this indicates a problem with the injector?

This red injector icon appears for a few secconds when the key is turned and then dissapears even if the injector is disconnected!

well i never new the light chnaged colour i kust thought that it came on and went off if everything was ok and and came on and stayed on if there ws a problem.

The light is red and red only; your friend has been misinformed! It should light up for a few secs when you switch on the ignition - if it comes on during driving then it means trouble.

his light only comes on for a few seconds when he turns ignition on like its supposed to there is no problem with it
