Hi all, I am new here, how are you doing?:)

My car is a MK1 punto sporting (Engine 1.58). The story is: When I bought it, its running perfect. After 1 month, it broken down on the M25. The feeling was like the injection's been cut out suddenly, engine misfires, lost power streering, I tryed my best to stop it on shoulder by inertia. Then started to restart engine, in 25 mins, I turned key 20 times, everytime, I couldn't make it, injection light was working, when I turned on the key, finally it restarted. I took it to Fiat Dealer, they check my car 3 hours, finally they charged me 240 pounds for labour(80 pounds/hour). The answer is 'ECU can not communicate with our diagnostic system', they told me to change all the ECU system will resolve that problem, but it will take anther 650 pounds, My God!

Then I sent my ECU to www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk, after checking, the answer is your ECU has no problem at all, 35 pounds, the doctor gave me an one year's warranty of my ECU.

So confusing now, the similar problem happened many many times later, some guys said the fuel pump needs to be changed, ok, I changed it, but the exactly same problem happened again and again. The AA checked my pool punto several times, they couldn't find any problem. When it happens, engine just cut out, try 10 to 20 times restart with injection light, it will restart, and work perfect, but next time when you drive it, it will come back. Sometimes, I really want to sell it as parts, but some guys start to suggest me to check some sensors, which are possibly damaged and gave wrong messages to ECU to cut out engine injection. I appreciate any suggestions and ideas. Cheers mates!!!

Check out the fuel pump relay.

Cheers Goldie Punto, I will have a look. And is there any sensor will stop fuel injection? Thanks!
