Good Afternoon,
I have just brought a Punto Punto S60 and i have 13in on them at the moment;) and stanted tyres but i want to upgrade my little baby to have a nice set of brand new shiney alloys and tyres.
I have been told i can put 15in on it and tyres 20mm whats the best size for my baby to make it look sexy and i want the tyres to be thin i hate big chunky things.
And can anyone recomend where i can find a good dealer who supplies them as i am having major trouble trying to find someone who does them and i need them asap as i have blown out 2 tyres already! (yes im sure you guys are saying typical woman[:X].

Can anyone out there help me?

15's are the size to go for, although if youve blown out tyres 14's might be a bit safer as they have a bigger sidewall and are less prone to kerb and pothle damage. 15" wheels will require low profile tyres

Met Cognac 99 Brava 100 HSX, what do you want? cupholders? open door warning light? grow up!

I found this out at halfords. If u want to be sensible and not change the speedo U should get 15" with 195/45/15 low profile tyres. The biggest U can go is 17" with 175/40/17 low profile tyres. But U will have to get New shocks if u go up to 17". I am getting 17" for my punto, then getting it lowered 60mm on Cobra shocks and springs. :)

if you put 17's on though dont you need to flair the arches? This is what the guys at Kroozin told me

My mum says im cool...even if my friends dont...

17" wheels!!! did anyone see the "i have blown out 2 tyres already! (yes im sure you guys are saying typical woman." bit?

if you get 15s you will need to get it lowered about 40mm cause it will look really high! i had the same prob with mine! your better with 16s cause they fill the gap better and u wont need it lowering..

Is it cool to put a 185/60R14 wheel instead of a 165/65R13? The exact diameter of the wheel is maintained with x/50R14, but I got a nice offer for 60mm tires. I wouldn't like my speed dial to go bannanas.

lmfao! 16" is bigger, so you need to lower the car more!

How does that work Whitey, I am stupid + don't know anything about lowering, but surely if the wheels are bigger there is a smaller gap between them and the arches, so you can't lower it as much without them scraping?

Btw do ya know why p/f has gone again? It was up this morning!

puntoforum's runnin fine for me mate:D

the wheels- it's quite simple really. take a 15" and take a 16". 16" is bigger diameter than 15", meaning that the hub will be further from the ground with a 16" rather than a 15", resulting in the car being raised more.

i've seen it for myself, before i lowered my car, when i was parked up next to a mate who had 15s and not lowered

Oh yeah gotcha, I was only thinking of the of above the wheels but of course bigger wheels raises the whole thing up!:I

exactly!:D

think of it this way- you've lowered your car 60mm with your standard 13 or 14" and your punto scrapes the ground every time you go over a speedbump. put a set of 16s on, effectivly raising the car, and it doesnt hit the ground.

b*ll*cks Whitey! i wasnt talkin about how low the car is to the ground! i was sayin 16s fill the gap between the wheel arch and the tyre more than 15s! me and my m8 bought wheels at the same time for our puntos he got 16s i got 15s and mine looked stupid because the gap was massive! So i needed to lower it[xx(] andington

b*ll*cks to you too!

and how do you work that one out????

it's all just a matter of primary school mathematics

actually i think whitey is rite on this one, if u put bigger wheels on then the car will be higher of the ground therefore making it look 1) like a JCB 2) needed to lower it more if possible, but 16's on a 60s punto dont work unless u need the wheel arches grinded

i would say go for 16's but i got a set and i lowered it 45mm on the front and 40mm on the back. it lokks so f***in sexy but i cant ne 1 in the back!! ive grinded away most of the lip in the rear arch but it still rubs where the back bumper is attached. to get it done properly i woz told it cost £150 per side!! go for 15's!!
