Got the window mech in bits now, and the nylon cog that the cable wraps round has had all its teeth stripped by the worm gear. Can i buy that cog on its own, anyone have a fiat part number for it - or should i just replace it with one from a scrap yard?

Have the same problem with daughters Mk 1, after some low life peeled the top of the door back and broke the glass. Just the plastic gear damaged, but only available as part of £130 unit from FIAT. Can get 4 door ones locally, but they are different from 2 door ones I think. Would be possible to swop the gears over, but quite an extensive strip down.

Duaghter now driving with one wind up window and one electric one until the local breaker has one in stock

Just had this problem myself, car was broken into and they broke the tiny little bit of plastic that holds the window.

£135 because it all comes as one unit. £250 to replace the window and the motor. Utter ******** if you ask me, why didnt they make it of metal? Why have a full metal unit with the most fundimental part made of plastic?

GRRRR

LOL at parr.

I broke them little clips when I changed from manual windows to electric windows.
went down scrappies to find spare ones, but they all broke with my hamfistedness.
fiat wanted a ridicolous amount (more than £135) as I would have had to buy entire new window regulators.

So I screwed that system, and went to B&Q, bought some shower curtain hooks, and some zip ties, cost me ~ £2.50 and it did a better job than the fragile fiat ones:cool:

I have a spare punto mk1 passenger side electric window assembly if anyone is interested. The bit that clips into the glass is still functioning (although i think the loop part (the not so important part) is broken).
