Alright people, My first time on the forums here seems like quite a helpful forum!Any way I was 18 at the end of Jan & my parents brought me my first car which is a N Reg Standard 3 door black Fiat Punto_s which has done 36,000 miles! (Pic here >>> http://www.hostultra.com/~gd87resource/mycar.htm its not the best of pics because it was taken with my phone but i should have my digital camera working again soon!)Anway i passed my theory test first time but yet have to do my actual test which is not until the 19th May!(theres a long wait where i am!)

Ive got a £1000 saved which will go straight towards insurance but I was wondering if anyone could recommend any cheap insurance companies for a young driver like me? i heard Tesco are quite good any others?

Here ive got a few questions to ask but go easy im new at modding ok?

> Ive noticed that some puntos have the front clear indicators do some models come with this as standard? if so which ones? I also want a pair of these so how much do they cost & are they easy to fit?

> I also want to debadge my car will it leave holes? & if so how do i go bout filling them & spraying them? how big are the holes? (BTW its a N Reg)

> I didnt have a rear window wiper when i got my car its in the boot at the mo, I think it must of snapped off! where shall i go to get one & how much do they cost?

> Ive also noticed some puntos have thier exahust showing/not showing! mine dont show! again do only certain models show thier exahust if so which ones? & if i want to get mine to show how do i go about doing it? i only want to put a cap on it for now!

The clear indicators are on ebay £19 buy it know, and are easy to fit jusy a spring to unclip under the bonnet. wait there ill go and find a link about insurance..

Just seen your pic you can get smoked side indicators (repeaters) on ebay but if you get out bid don't get tempted to bid to high they have new ones on there every day and if you wait you will get some for £2-£3. they look wicked on black puntos. I sprayed my front indicators on my black punto looks evil.

So people must cut some off there bumper to get the exhaust to stick out right? or can you buy the a box which will go under the bumper? how did u spray ur front indicators? where they orange? have you got any pics of your car?

Insuarance - Tesco or Asda, probably Tesco. I'm with Tesco. Look no further. Quote should be much less than £1000 TPFT.

1) Some Puntos like mine came with clears as std. You can get them and the repeaters off ebay.

2) Side badges "55" come off easily. Bonnet will but be careful. Tailgate ones leave holes IIRC. Beware you might de-value the car doing any of this.

3) Maybe get a garage to look at the rear wiper if it's been snapped. The part can be had off Fiat. If it's wash wipe it can be a little intricate.

Exhausts on the 55 are concealed behind bumper facing down, sometimes they even get so close to the bumper they melt it a little. It'll be the wrong angle for a cap so you'd have to replace the back section I think.

iirc - if I recall correctly - netspeak. The holes are hole-punch hole size I think. I'm not sure how to do it properly - would be a bodyshop job for me. I have pics of my car which others have seen but my webspace isn't available atm. It's not de-badged though. I suppose you could stick the badges back on, I don't know what they use though. 15" alloys will fit fine with the right tyres. Insurance will be affected depending on who you're with. Bear in mind if you don't have power steering bigger wheels will make it even heavier, can be a bit tricky when you're inexperienced. Also I know I kerbed my wheels a lot when I passed parrallel parking in particular. I still do occasionally I'm not bothering with alloys I decided the hassle over insurance and theft attraction and loss of performance etc. was too much to outweigh the benefits.

The proper way to smoothly fill holes is to attach a piece of body mesh/fibreglass over the inside of the hole with filler to stick it in place. Then apply filler over the mesh from the front to fill the hole. Let it dry and sand it smooth. Filling's the easy bit; respraying is the ass-pain. I don't know much about painting - whenever I patched the rot on my old Uno I just painted over the filler with white Hammerite to keep the rust off and luckily my Punto hasn't needed any filling yet!

Its a shame that taking the back badges of leave holes! y couldnt they just leave it & put no nasty holes in it[!]! so you could just rip the badges off arghh! i will definatly take the 55 badges of the side but do you lot think i should leave the front badge on or off? & as for wheel trims what looks half decent on a punto?

I also want to get black tinted tail lights but i bet they cost quite a bit! has any one used this spray >> http://www.extremeautoaccessories.co.uk/products.php?section=1193 Do you just take the lights out & spray em? i think i see a punto in essex yesterday wich might of used it, it obviously dont look as good as the proper thing cos you can still see the orginal light colours faintly through the spray! but is it still a good cheap alternative? & could you spray the side indicators with it too?

Im thinking about tinting my rear side windows & rear window as i can get the film from work & i already got myself a nice gloss black visor from work with the fiat badge in the center! but will tinting the windows will boost the insurance right?

I also got a FREE 200W Alpine sub today with a 10" speaker! so i am going to buy a amp & a decent system with say 4 speakers as well! any one reccomend any where to buy? how much do you think that will cost? & what about fitting them? is it easier to do it yourself or get it fitted for you? I heard halfords will fit it free if you buy a system there?
