I own a punto 55 sx (1995) , It doesn't have power steering and dont i know it. When driving at 30mph and steer from side to side it feels like im driving the titanic , and its turning circle is just as bad , it has 13" rims could this be the problem?. Its very heavy turning when moving very slowly , Hence the biceps of BA baracus. Any ideas any one

checked the tyre pressures?
had the tracking cheaked?

tyres are solid , trackings ok and so is steering rack as far as i know

was going to ask the same question i have a punto on a 96 plate coming in a few days.
i did manage to test drive it last week ,now i remember the pre power steering days but i dont remember anything near as hard to steer as this punto.
drove ok till i came to my first bend at 15/20 mph possibly less... shocking.
ive bought the car for the wife but not sure she,ll get on with the steering

cant remember my sisters 55sx being that hard to drive with out power steering. make sure tyres are pumped up fully.maybe increase them a lil bit

I've got a '94 55S & the steering is very light don't need power steering, something is very wrong maybe seized ball joint, track rod or Steering rack/ definitely not normal.

well my mate has a 55 97 and that seems ok, you notice it but it's easy drivable. i think there's something wrong.
