my sister has got a mk1 punto p reg i think its a 60. anyways she has been told that both her rear suspension arms have gone but she keps driving it around as she sais cant afford to get fixed [V]. the garage she went to wich is an independant fiat specialst told her that its a bitch of a job and you have to cut the bolts off. and was quoted £260-£300 to replace teh 2 arms.

seems bit expensive to me ? but what do i know lol soo does anyone know how much you think this sort of thing should cost ??? and also is the bolt cutting comment true??

I'd go to another garage with it, my hubby did both of the arms on my MK1 punto and didnt need to cut any bolts.

The arms themselves cost £60 each from our local motor factors and they are original FIAT parts, i'm lucky as hubby is a mechanic, so im not sure how much a garage would charge, but i would think £260 - £300 is excesive.

£90-100 a side as far as I'm concerned, no more. This is based on discussions I've had as mine could probably do with changing soon. I'd do mine with my mechanic though.

cheers all, i had a word with my old mechanic i used to use when i owened a cavlier sri, i was frequent visitor to his with that till i wrote it off. anyways had a word with him and he said he can do for 180-200 quid wich fits in nicely with what you guys have said should be the price. i knew that garage she went to over charged.
the parts are £65 each and then his labour on top. special thanx to dawn of time for you offer
