Hi. Have a Punto with erratic tickover, tried leads and plugs but did not set the gap to 9mm, just fitted the new plugs.Tried one new coil and swapped around to eliminate the other coil, no difference still lumpy tickover. No engine management lights are flasing on the dash. The ECU is bolted onto the nearside inner wing top panel. Am I in the right place? Could it be a duff ECU? Has anyone had a similar fault? Seems to be better in dry weather, but still not quite right. What are the ECUs that reprogramme themselves on EBAY?

try unhooking the battery for an hour or so to reset the ECU.
also check for induction leaks inc. the pipe to the map sensor & rear of the throttle body
