New owner of a 55 sx 1.1 1995 M reg, there is a few niggly things that I would like to know how to fix.

Only one headlight worked and only on dipped so fitted new bulb to passenger side thinking that mainbeam would work if fitted a new bulb, nope still only dipped on both??? :bang:
Also whilst with the lights, the motor that moves the whole headlight unit when needing to adjust does not work on drivers side, is it an easy fix?

When the engine is just ticking over there is a random knocking not in the rocker cover but to the right of the airfilter box, is this something to do with the electronic ignition? ( page 199 of the owners manual fig.18 shows the black cover to where this noise is coming from) Should I be worried about what the noise is? :(

Gearbox...a plug or cover that is missing as you look over and behind the battery is missing on top of the gearbox. It`s about a half an inch/7ml hole that should have a cap on it. If the engine and gearbox gets hot I suppose oil could spill out!!!??? I should think I could find one at a scarpyard, but what is it for, gearbox oil top up?

This next niggle is probably me being used to a Ford Escort estate 1.8 diesel without a turbo!!! When driving on a well surfaced road the backend seems to skit around and even more so over a manhole-cover so, are the shocks knackerd???

Thought i`d add...87,000 miles on the clock and timing belt changed at 76k and a slight seepage of oil that i`m not too worried about from the head gasket.

Well, thats enough for now, hope someone can enlighten me on my queries.
