ive haerd that a punto gt turbo is quicker 0-100 than a VTS by 6 secs, is this true or rubbish??

Top Gear did a road test & the GT was quicker but i dont think it was by as much as 6 secs
I doubt it too. They have near identical 0-60 times. It was probably as little a second or two in it.
If I liked Citroëns, which I don't, I'd get a VTR anyway. Group 7, rather than 14[:0], and only two seconds off the VTS's pace to 60. And a second faster than the Group 7 Sporting.
But I don't, so I'll still be getting a Sporting

Punto GT did 100 in 21 secs I think (Autocar).
But where the Punto gave the VTS a kicking was in overtaking power. It had 153lb/ft at 3000rpm (c.f. the 120? lb/ft at 4500? of the VTS).
As a result I think the GT did 50-70 in 3rd, 4th and 5th in 4.2, 5.6 and 7.9 respectively, which, as I recall, blew the VTS (and just about everything else) out of the water.
I also think the VTS (cos it revved to 7000+rpm) managed 60mph in 2nd gear and, accordingly, offered a very good 0-60mph figure - the Punto GT needed 3rd gear to get to 60, but still managed it in 7.7secs (I think) ...

how far can you push the gt on that 1.4 engine???
i mean its bloody quick to start with anyway, but im sure ill wana get it moving quicker.

160 - 170 bhp can be had easily with just filter, exhaust, bleed valve & chip. It gets expensive after that though - Hybrid, intercooler etc... [8D]
