Technical drivers door won't stay shut

My daughter just called me from uni to say her drivers door won't stay shut. Seems to have happened since the cold weather came. Before it got like this she couldn't lock it for a few days... any ideas anyone?

Make sure the exterior door handle is not staying in the up postion..

Definately sounds like the door mechanism has frozen or jammed open.
If it doesn't sort it self out you will need to remove the door card and wd40 all the moving parts as best you can.
Also look at the lock on the trailing edge of the door to see if the catch is damaged.
