many thx peeps halfoeds here i come just hope it can sort it till after the xmas ;) :bang:

topped up with water yesterday to go get the barsleak from halfords on the way temp went right up and steam was pissing out the vents looked like i had a fire blazing in the car :( looked on the floor and there as water on both sides :bang: so matrix gone 1000% dam right before the xmas so off the road at min but was going to get a piece of tube and miss the matrix out as short term but looks like cold coming again pitty its not summer can any one tell me what size tube i need to miss the matrix out and link the 2 pipes and was gonna order a matrix off shopforparts for £65 is this about right or will i get it cheaper? looks like the dash is coming out pal said he will do the job hes got no work on is there a tutorial any where on doing the job just need to know where all the bolts are located many thx

no mate didnt burn my feet lol just gonna burn a whole in my pocket :p

theres some bolts under front speakers, some below glove box, some inside fuse box, to get front off the heater control panel there a hidden bolt behind the middle knob,
there loads of bolts i cant remember them all, its also easier to remove dash if he lowers steering column,
he will need a few new cable ties to put wires back, they are all cable tied to the back of dash,
i got a matrix from local radiator place for £57 at the time that was same price as main dealer, but a better made one

many thx dave for the help today just bypassed the matrix by connecting the inlet and outlet with some pipe and some clips mate had a brand new plug in heater so got that on the dash at min seems to be sound might just get the xmas out the way 1st then will be getting it done as soon as so dave you saying dont get the Magneti Marelli as this was the original that they fitted from new ? because i was thinking if the would of upgraded them as was a common fault many thx again

its a full days work, dash out job, costs as much if not more than labour for head gasket.
try bars leak some say its a lot better than rad weld

2 & half hours to change heater matrix(dash out & in) no problem but allow another 30mins for bleeding/roadtest,dont know what the book time is on this though.
