Hi
Always love this particular model but by the time it was announced for sale my budget only reached the 1.7TD model, which I used for several years.
So last week when I went to a garage I saw this litle "guy" on his potencial last address.... :(
I call the owner and get a price for it, it´s rust free, original form factory (except the roof) and NO engine
Well that a challenge for me.... lets do it :D

The roof is the electric version but I would like to opened manually to lubificate everything before using the electric procedure.
Can anyone tell me how can I open it? Is there any lever that I can remove so I can free the roof mechanism?

Cheers

Yes you can release the roof for manual operation. There is a tap in the boot on the right hand side behind an access panel. Turn it through 90 degrees and you should be able to open and close the roof by hand. I notice that the car is a later 1.2 16v model. If you have not already found a suitable replacement engine, you shouldn't have too much trouble. Good luck with a very worthwhile project.

Hi

New engine almost in the car.
Firstly, a major maintenance such as:
- Timming belt and tensor
- water pump
- oil + filter
- coolant thermostat
- Temp sensor
- all block plugs
- liquid coolant

Let´s hope this Bertone returns to the road :)

Welcome to the forum JPVIPER

Good to see any mk1 being saved! So well done you.

I have gone through your thread and hosted all the pictures posted so far on the forum itself rather than them being linked to Flickr (Hi, I'm the mk1 punto section moderator by the way ).

Hosting all pictures on the forum isn't a steadfast rule but it is preferred as the images won't ever disappear making the thread kinda useless (much like when photobucket decided to not let people link externally without being a paid member and all of a sudden threads all over many forums lost their pictures and became basically rubbish threads). But even if you just re-organised your pics on Flickr or renamed some for example all these picture links will break ruining your thread.

As I said, this isnt a rule (apart from in the members motors section) and I'm not gonna get upset or anything if you choose to continue linking externally, more a polite request. I have made a post about how to attach image files to you posts if you don't know how, can be found here https://www.fiatforum.com/punto/317573-posting-photos.html?p=4184100

Anyhow, good progress so far keep up the good work (y)

Hi
Thanks very much for all your help and positive stroke.
I will change the way of sharing the pictures as you advise in future posts.
Cheers
