My 1.2 85 elx 16v 1998 has just failed the Mot on the above. I presume its the main bush, my question is ,is it easier to replace the whole suspension arm with the bush incl. than just the bush. I you uderstand you need a tool to remove the bush. The arm I have sourced is not much dearer than the bush kit. Having said this are there any other bushes I should check that might have led to the reported failure before I go ahead. Any help much appreciated. I want to keep this car alive as long as possible.

Re: Rear SuI redidspension arm excessively worn MOT fail

I replaced the bearings on mine, drilled the long bolt to take a grease nipple and filled the void space in the arm with expanding foam, now a lifetime job, shot of grease one a year and all should be fine. I think there is a feature on this if you search.

Many thanks, will do a search.

Very good and precise guide, a relatively easy job if you have the facilities and time. Just as an add on me being me I'd give the arms a clean up and paint with a few coats of anti rust paint.
