Cant remember the software but its something like iawecuscan (free). You need a vagcom cable with the 3 pin adapter and you connect to a live and earth. The socket is next to the ECU under the bonnet.

as said already, none of the mk1 have OBD or OBD2.

all models bar the 1.6 sporting and GT require the fiat 3-pin to OBD2 adaptor and vagcom cable (both can be got for a couple of quid off ebay).

Reading codes on the 1.6 I don't know how to do or if anyone here knows. The GT you pull codes using a 'blink test' - I have written a guide for this in the guides section of the forum, heres a link https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-mk1-guides/471928-how-read-gt-engine-fault-codes.html.

I just ordered the 3 pin to obd2 adapter. Can I use it with my usual obd2 bluetooth adapter or do I have to use VAGcom usb cable specificly?

No, you need a serial port (RS232 or USB) VAG-COM 409.1 / KKL interface.

These are "dumb" an allow the software to control the signals directly. The newer "ELM 327" adaptors have a built in processor that does not allow this.

Lots of sellers on ebay This is a UK one that I have used

Where did you get this? I had a search on UK ebay and it's either not there or I'm using the wrong search terms.
