I recently bought a car, in the biggining it choked a little bit when I pressed the gas.. Then, for a day, it was running normally, and now that the gasoline is running low it chokes even more.. For 2 seconds today, I got one red light on in the instruments cluster, the one in attachments image.. Any idea of what it could be?

That is the engine management light which means that your ecu has recognised that there is a problem somewhere with your engine or engine management. You will need to get the code read to find out what the problem is. Unfortunately, you will need to find a garage that can read Fiat codes from a 3 pin plug.

No that isn't an engine management light.

It has the shape of an injector and it means that there is an issue with the fuel injectors.

That is a common mistake many people make because the light does look like an injector. Trust me, it is the engine management light. If you still don't believe me, look it up in the handbook.

A common misconception... it 100% is the engine management light. Its just cause fiat referred to the engine management system as the fuel injection system back in these days of early simple engine management, and then in a very fiat way decided they could do with their own symbol for this, i mean where is the fun in doing something like everyone else to make things simple? lol

thanks for this information guys... I can understand the fact that Italians like overcomplicating things haha. I apologize for my earlier reply and thanks again for teaching me this information :)

Omg I always thought this was an injector light I remember years ago the guy in the fiat breakers even told me this. Dam so my check engine light has been on for years on my GT ? best get it plugged in next week nothing has ever gone wrong with my car from wat i no even though that light has been on as long as I can remember

I went as far as changing one of the injectors that I thought was dodgy ah that is too funny dam fiat always have to be different even in bolt sizes, they are just extra, interested to see Wats gona come up wen they plug it in prob like 10 codes at least lol ??? but my car runs pretty sweet so not worried

The GT is a little more tricky to pull codes from - there is (as far as i know) no cable and bit of software you can use. You have to do whats known as a blink test - I have a description of how to do it somewhere i can post up for you. But basically you bridge some connections on a connector and then the EML will flash or 'blink' out a code that you then go look up.
