Air intake for my mk1

Okay, so I got my first car, it's an mk1, 55. And after driving it for a bit, i'm thinking that I would like a bit more power from this car. So first thing I was thinking was a cold intake kit. Now.. I'm a bit of a noob, and i was searching but haven't really found nothing, I don't know where to start. Can someone guide me? What do I have to buy? I would like to replace the stock air box and put one of those tubes with the cone filters at the end that takes air from down or behind the battery or whatever zone is better for cold air. Please help me out, thanks in advance (:

Re: Air intake for my mk1

Not what you want to hear, but what you are suggesting will not give any more power, this is probably the first question all new drivers that come on here ask. Just enjoy the car & start saving for something a bit more upmarket for the future.

Re: Air intake for my mk1

I've used a custom cold intake 4 years ago on my 75 punto.

You will need a throttle body of Fiat Cinquecento (I'm selling mine if you're interested):

http://www.ebay.com/itm/253927303278...84.m1555.l2649

and need some 90 degree silicone pipes, alloy pipe and a filter.
It didn't give me noticeable HP, but the car breathed better, had a nice noise from the filter, and the throttle body was cleaner as I moved the oil vapours to a catch tank.

It's illegal in my country to modify the air intake system in MOT so I removed it.

Re: Air intake for my mk1

Okay, so, will this work on my 55? Or it is different in some way from your 75? And also, It is kinda of illegal in my country too to do this. So I was thinking, I really really like how the cone filter looks, and the sound it gives, but what about those oil sport air filter that you put in your airbox? Also, if I buy your throttle body, can I just buy the 90 silicone pipes, alloy pipe and filter, put everything togheter and go? Cause I saw in the post you linked there was some 3d printing involved. I have no problem with working with my car but 3d printing isn't really a thing I have access to, i can ask a friend to do that for me and ship it, but it would be better to have alredy all the kit and just mount it.

Re: Air intake for my mk1

Yes it would fit the 55 throttle body.
The post is talking about a 3d printer but for other thing.
I just had to show the picture of how my setup was built.

You will only need a two 90 degree silicone hoses, another short one and an alloy pipe in order to fit it all together.
The "bob" which sits on the throttle body itself is rare. silicone hoses are available everywhere.

Everything sits there on just 2 bolts so everytime I had a MOT, I just took it off and replaced the original one.

So, just to be sure, you are selling just the bob or the throttle body and the bob?
