Would anyone be able help me with wiping the immo off on a iaw18fd.5z ecu?
I have one open and have bought a reader for the 27c512 eprom but cannot successfully write to it. Anybody done this before?

If that is the ECU for the MK1 16v I have had the immo turned off on mine so it is doable. A guy who does remapping did it for me.

I know there are services out there if you manage to read the EPROM out of the ECU and save it as a file you can send them the file and they will disable it for you. you then just have to re-load the new file onto the EPROM. If you do get the file off I will happily look at it for you as I do a lot with computers and have an idea as to how to go about it all.

One thing I know is that once the immo is turned off make sure not to plug back in the code box as it reactivates the immo and it is not possible to turn it back off.

All the best

Yes its the Mk1 Punto sporting ecu. That's the car it is off. How would I go about reading the 68hc11?

Really sorry haven't been on here in a while. I'm sure any universal eeprom reader should work like the tl866. Lots of them on eBay sorry again about the slow reply

Sorry I stand corrected. You need a upa programmer. They aren't the cheapest. It seems you can either remove the chip or possibly solder to certain pins on the chip to read and write from it. I've never worked with these specificly before so forgive my ignorance. There is a company called immo bypass who will more than likely have a file for you to flash to the eeprom if you can get to that stage.
