I hope someone can answer my question, I've had an issue with the cooling fan not cutting in when the engine is up to temperature.

So I changed thermostat, and the fan switch. But no joy, so tested the fan and it works great.

I checked the Punto owners hand book, eper & the Haynes manual. And can only find a mention of the 30 Amp Maxi fuse, on the auxilary fuse box next to the battery.

But I would of thought there would be a relay? if so where would I find it as can't seem to locate it.

If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it!

The car is a 1994 Fiat Punto 55, thanks :D

Sorted this one myself!! touch wood the car is fixed and working as it should :D

Turns out there is no relay, or Maxi fuse under the bonnet on my Punto.

Seems later or specific versions, of the mk1 have a Maxi fuse. Which is located to the right of the battery, so check before buying a fuse.

Which is a green 30 AMP Maxi Fuse, according to the Fiat handbook & Haynes.

My fault was a mixture of an air lock, and the engine management temp switch not working correctly.

The engine management temp switch, is located on the manifold. And on my car at least, was blue in colour.

Hope that helps anyone else, experiencing any cooling fan or over heating issues.

Always worth changing the thermostat, and fan switch as a matter of course ;)

And if you have to remove any hoses etc.. or change the radiator, thermostat etc..

Always bleed the cooling system, saves any head scratching later!!

it might be the thermal switch fan located on the radiator tank or its connection. I had the connection corroded on it and had the same issue.
