hi guys!!!!! i've got a slight prob with my punto at mo, its a 1995 55s. the car is running great and doesnt seem to use any oil or coolant but the heater changes from blowing hot to cold air inside the car.... even when the car has been running for a bit!! apart from this and a crap handbrake i'm happy with it... i'm goin to sort handbrake out at weekend but any info regarding heater would be appreciated. thanks(y)

hi, thanx 4 replies. im gonna drain and renew coolant/antifreeze on sat so hopefully that will cure it? if not then do u think maybe it could be the thermostat ? the car doesnt have a temp gauge (great one fiat)(n) so that makes it harder to know whats goin on!!!! how much is thermostat etc if it is that? cheers

This happened on my wifes car, and also was overheating, after having new radiator and new thermostat etc, it turned out to be the head gasket. apparently puntos are renowned for it. Ended up paying out for new head gasket 1 month later.

Yeah i think my gasket is going as it seems to be using coolant too, i top it up every 2 days with about half a litre  it seems punto's are renowned for a lot of things so maybe i'll off load it and buy a non fiat or at least not a punto. shame really cause i wanted to really like this very poorly made and flawed car!!:bang: i miss my uno!!!
