HI,

I heard alfa 147 seats are an instant fit for the punto, is that confirmed?
What other cars have instant fit?

And what about the steering wheel? What cars steering wheel fits the Punto?
If you are going to change the steering wheel with another brand, do you leave the airbag unplugged?

no they won't fit straight in... as far as i know a mk2 punto and a alfa 147 share the same floorpan as each other thats why they bolt straight in. Not sure what, if any, are a straight swap to a mk1. Making seats fit generally is not that hard though so if you want alfa 147 seats just buy some, slight modding to the rails will see them in a mk1.

Bought the seats today. They are indeed diffrent. Never done a seat swap but i am going to try. Cant i switch the rails?

impossible to say without being able to look at them..

If both seats have bolting points that face straight down is to get a plate of metal, drill holes in a pattern that matches factory seat and another set that match new seat so you can bolt seat to the plate and then plate to the car - its not always that simple as you can't always just use a flat plate due to shape of the floor and nor is it the lightest solution as it needs to be strong metal.

Or you could cut the lower part of the factory seat rails off and weld them to the new seats.

Or you could drill the floor and bolt the seat straight down using some spreader plates on either side of the floor.

There is no right way to do this, depends on each application.

Unfortunately the rail ending on the rear side of the seat has a curve, vertical bolting points.

The 147 steering wheel does not fit perfectly, the airbag connection is little diffrent (horn is the same), and when it's mounted, the back of the steering wheel grinds against the plastic housing of the hub. :(
