I'm begining to think our 55sx has the suspension off the sporting model fitted. Sat next to a 60s in a car park today ours looked a lot lower? I measured from the centre of the front wheel to the top of the arch and it was 355mm. It still has the standard steel 13" wheels

Plus the ride seems excessively harsh for a standard car too, and a mate who had a mk2 said it holds the road a hell of a lot better than his used to, and it rolls into corners a lot less.

Any one know the standard ride hight? I haven't got a haynes manual so I cant check in that!!

We need to know for insurance purposes!!

Most of the springs do not get rusty enough to be able to read the make. This would give you an indication. If you can't read it at all, try to find out at least the colour as this might indicate (or slim the options down) what the make are.
