Fitted my new pedal rubbers today, we’re only a couple of quid and the old ones were manky and worn.

The part no is on the bag if anyone needs it, both clutch and brake are same part number and are still available from Fiat.

Had a productive afternoon- decided to clean all the door shuts and hinges as it’s something that I have never done in the time I’ve had the car. Messy and time consuming job but another ticked off the list

Re: My exploit yellow 75 elx

Think I’ll get a set of those pedal rubbers if they’re still available from Fiat , looks mint with clean door hinges , I’ll have to do mine , only two to do though

Love the Punto.

Mk1 Puntos are such a pure design - with very few updates, they could be a current model.

I very nearly bought a 16v Sporting before my Sei Schumacher came along - I think the Sporting is actually a nicer car to drive than the GT Turbo.

Indeed, they are a sad reminder of how great Fiat used to be.

Had the car out for a long ish run to a friends in Kirkcaldy.
He got some photo’s of the car on the move. Probably it’s last run out of the year.....

I didn’t realise how low it sits when on the move

Re: My exploit yellow 75 elx

The car has been provisionally booked into my work’s bodyshop for after Christmas/ new year. I have told them that the car will be going back on the road in April ish, so they have plenty time.
Also nice that it’s a fiat approved bodyshop.

However I’m in two minds about what to get done.
To get it looking 100% mint I plan on getting the following done-

•paint bonnet due to stone chips (also got a brand new fiat badge to go on)
•paint front bumper due to stone chips
•paint lower drivers door due to a deep scratch that’s been touched in
•replace dsr arch and paint
•Rear bumper both corners light scuffs
•Boot lock bubbling so treat and paint tailgate
•psr arch listening so treat and paint.
•lip on cill under psr door crusty so replace lip (cill is fine)

But I’m just wondering if it’s worthwhile me stripping the car down and taking it for a full re-spray?

Also trying to get fiat to do me a deal on a genuine quarter panel that’s showing as available from volvera- £230!
I’d rather have a genuine panel rather than a repair panel for £44.99 from online, but we will want and see what they get back to me with.

Watch this space

Also, the car will be going back on the Steele’s for a while so I can sent the GT wheels off for powder coating.
I had them painted when I put them on, but would rather get a proper powdercoat, especially if the rest of the car will be mint.

Re: My exploit yellow 75 elx

Hi Simon, may be having all the car done wouldn’t be much more than all the other areas, suppose it comes down to money in the end , if you want it perfect i would do the whole car but I’m sure it will be more than the car is worth but I’m sure you’ll not find another like it , the Mik 1’s are disappearing fast .

Re: My exploit yellow 75 elx

tbh reading that list, once they done the blending nearly the whole car will have been painted anyway bar the roof.
I think if it were me I'd also just bite bullet and get the whole thing sprayed too. Sods law states if you don't the roof lacquer will start showing signs of age or something.

Plus if you get a full respray i would expect he paint to be better than factory with zero peel in it
