Engine on my Punto 1.2 16v won't turn over. it has been sitting on my drive for the last three months and when I re-connected the battery the starter did not turn the engine. After the ignition is switched on you can hear the fuel pump etc come to life, but once the key is turned the starter does not want to turn on as if the battery is flat. The battery has been re-charged and is showing good voltage from a multi meter. I have tried to push it off but all that does is instantly stop the car. I have a Toad alarm fitted and wondered if by removing the battery on several occasions it has somehow caused the immolbiliser to come on preventing the engine from turning over. Could it be a stuck starter motor has is been stood for a while?
Any ideas please.

See if it spins over (always good practice when restarting after a rebuild or a period of standing idle) with the plugs out.

I'm not sure what the Toad will actually disable.

Good voltage should be 12.6 -- anything less than 12.2 is flat.

Alternators can seize solid -- might be worthwhile removing the belt.
