Thanks I've been in the body shop today arches are to far gone so going to weld some new ones in :) all good fun looking forward to seeing it done I had an uno turbo and that went well ive not had chance to see how this one goes yet as when I bought it tbe clutch was gone :( but that's sorted now but bolts snapped on rear engine mount so got to retap them will post more progress pics and looking forward to the shows next year .

Check around front and rear jacking points, especially the rear. They trap water there and rot under the underseal. Common on all Mk1s.

Ive decided to fit two new rear quater panels to it so ill check when there off :) im surprised at how solid the sills are as ive seen some on ebay rotted thru so its looking good so far . Thanks gor the advice Noddy

Noddy you was rite about the jacking point the rear was shot but sorted it out with some nice plates it would of defo failed next mot the inner arch was rotten to :( well i cut all signs of rust and rot back and welded nice new metal in there to keep it nice and strong for a few more years here's a few updated pic's

Lol o/s quarter panel is coming Monday guess the other side is going to be just as nasty but at least when its all welded up I know its solid . Looking forward to getting it done :)

I thought I had done work to mine but I feel ashamed as to what Ive done to the cabriolet now. Very good work and to a very high standard. Keep up the good work am enjoying this a lot.

Thanks again noddy :) all the filler work is done on the passenger side now just got to wait for my panel for drivers side to be delivered . Then the body will be ready for primer I have a set of morette headlamps not sure if I should put them back to standard ?? What you think guys .

Have to say that it is youre car and do what you want to it. Forget what other say and just enjoy it when its done.
