Passenger seat slidy handle (you know the one that makes the seat go forward so people can get in the back)

has snapped

rekon with a bit of luck i'll be able to slide a new cable in, however one thing is stopping me

i can't get the damn handle off.







there is a screw when u lift if up, unscrewing that appears to do nothing and its still held on my some strange forcefield!

There are a few little sticky out bits to keep the trim tidy round the handle but prising the trim off of these does nothing.

Anyone any ideas on how to remove it? anyone with a haynes? does it say in there?

p.s sorry if i brought up some old threads, wanted to search first rather than just jumping in with a question

you have 2 screws holding on the release handle
one is under the handle when you pull it up and the second is typical fiat when the handle is in the normal (down) pos the inside bit that slides up pulls out its a flap that covers the screw heah . it goes up into the chair so get a thin screw driver and pull it out
