Looking for a bit of advice
The EOBD system - engine control system light has stayed lit on the dashboard.
I have looked it up in the manual but that isnt much help.
Car seems to be driving ok over short distances and low speed.
I am concerned that there may be an impending problem with the car but not sure where to start.
The car is a punto 1.2 petrol

time to read the codes then. Any back street garage will be able to read the codes or alternatively you can buy the cables for about the same amount they will charge. You will need download IAW-Scan2 (which is free to download and use) to read/clear codes, its really simple and pretty self explanatory once you install it.

For the mk1 you need a vagcom cable and a fiat 3pin to ODB adpator, and a laptop. Both the cables can be found on ebay cheap, google search 'IAW Scan' to find the download.
