Hi, first time posting. First time buyer/driver.

I've been looking at a '97 55-S for my first drive. It's been there for years parked under a tree, but despite this the engine turned over on first ignition, and we were able to drive it for a proper look.

What we noticed is that there a slight 'knocking' sound coming from the rear driver side tyre. We noticed the camber of the wheel was slightly off, and it had some play in it - same for the other side but not as severe.

After looking at past posts, this seems to be a common problem for Mk1's. It could be many things, but my Dad suspects it may be the bearings/bushes/trail arm. I would just like some more insight, if anyone else has had it repaired, how much it cost to fix etc.

I've also searched for some common problems with Mk1's, and this just seems be the only one! Bar the obvious MOT worthy checks.
