Started to get some clicking noise when I am coasting at any speeds and is getting lauder. If I press the accelerator the noise goes away. I am suspecting inner CV joints on the driveshaft. Can there be any other reason? Is this a common failure on MK1 Puntos.

Looks like I may be lucky. Decided to have a look this evening and lifted the front of the car. Went under the car to check things out and could not find anything unusual. At this point I started to panic.

Decided to start the engine put it in second gear, so I can get the wheels moving to replicate what I am getting on the road. Then started blipping the throttle a bit and yes started noticing some noise from the drivers side wheel. I said yes, it must be the wheel CV joint but I was puzzled by the fact that the noise was not affected by the steering change. Upon close inspection noticed the wheel to be a bit wobbly. So start suspecting that the cv joint may not be my problem. Then I realised the wheel nuts where a bit too loose. Tighten them up and yes the noise went away. Road tested it and that also felt good no noise. Not to happy with those bolts getting loose. The wheel looked a bit buckled so that can't help. Luckily I had a spare one not perfect but slightly better.
