Hi all,
punto 1.1L spi 8V manual

After missing out on some chips for sale here i'm now looking to remap my ECU myself, needs an EEPROM chip read/writer? and a new chip (So i can keep the standard one un-altered)

Does anyone have any Exp for remapping the ecu? I have made an engine map for the VRX 220 engine at uni so have an idea of what i'm doing and what to look out for, i.e detonation.

This is more for gaining experience rather than power from the engine.

So i'm looking for anyone who knows what i need to get started and/or has any advice, i.e a good set of software and tools, Plus the chip i need to buy to map, Recommended values etc..(The code is normally written on top of the chip)

(planning on copying the standard chip program over to the new chip then editing it from there.)

if you make a chip and prove a performance upgrade I would buy 1 :D

Thanks :)
My new work place has access to both a dyno and a rolling road
If i get in the good books i might be able to use them once I manage to get the tools to do it.

The EEPOM Chip writer is a bit costly, maybe if i convince the company to take a turn towards engine mapping also:idea:

Can't wait until i can give this a go :D

Think i have found a chip thanks to Eklipze3k (y)
Once i get the read/writer i can try mapping on the road. I.e i get someone to drive and i tweek the map on the move.

(Must remember to have the doors and seats on this time :ROFLMAO: - poor Geoff, Trying to map an Aston Martin on the track without the doors on or the seats in. went flying out on the corner ha ha. the laptop cable died, ripped in half)
