All,

I have a fuel leak on my Mk1 Punto 75SX and lifted the pump cover under the back seat, expecting to find a cracked outlet pipe.

However, I can't see any cracks but as soon as the pump pressurises the supply hose "pushes off" a millimetre or two and it sprays fuel out.

Has anyone come across this problem before? Do I need to replace the pump or the supply hose/fitting - or both?

Any guidance appreciated.

If the hose is moving it may not be tightened properly , either because the hose itself is past it or the wrong clip is on or its not sitting in the right place. I would take it off and have a good look. Don't put it on the long finger - in my book a car with a fuel leak is not driveable.
