how do you remove the rear glass out of the boot?

i want to tint it, so how do i remove it? i removed the rubber all around it before and it didnt budge!

Mk2? It'll be bonded in. Cheese cutter/garotte tool as used by windscreen fitters. Or call a mobile one out if scared.

Usually you don't you tint the out side of the glass. this is how the professionals have done it for years on cars with bonded screens
Other wise when you bond it back in you are effectively glueing the tinting film to the car and the glass is held on only by the film

Also if you tint the interior of the glass you will get air bubbles round the elements of the heated screen it is impossible not to

its a mk1

I thought they were pop in. But if all the rubber is out, must be bonded. Ah well. Tinting is for chavs, anyway............

easiest way to do a good job?
take tailgate off turn upside down,this way you can clean it to perfection prior to devaluing it

Thing that gets me about the tints is that I know that if I was a policeman (which I'm not) I'd always suspect that behind the tints someone was smoking crack or having sex with a ten year old. I'd pull them immediately!

hahaha! i cant be bothered to take the tailgate off, the wind is too much out there and theres to connectors to disconnect the wiring :bang:

Get a pro to tint it. If they mess it up they pay for another sheet of film.
