Having finally sorted out the mechanical aspects of my car and getting it to MOT standard (y) I think its time to start solving the smaller little problems, starting with the speakers. Since i brought the car in January only the front passenger side speaker works, the two in the back are silent and the one in the front on the driver side crackles when the volume is changed, having done my research the forum it seems i need 8 cm speakers in the front and 10cm in the back, but i took of the front driver side and it seems to be a 10cm one is this a problem or just a matter of making things neat? and the two in the back seem to be new which a previous owner had set up and wired them selves but i can't find any other wires to change? any advice/ help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Crackling sound when volume is changed is the head unit volume control not the speaker.
Its also a sure sign you have an old potentiometer type so well past its worth having date.

The speakers may well be shot but chances are its the head unit.

ok sorted out the front speaker (y) there was a connection problem when a previous owner had changed the radio and speakers over, however the rear speakers don't work at all and i can't find any obvious issues, any ideas what it might be? thanks
