General Need to change a light bulb

Hi all, i've done this job before but cant remember how
1997 mk1 55 s 3dr
The light bulbs that shine onto the licence plate on the rear

How do i get the lights off so that i can change the bulbs. When i undo the screws the holder thingy goes loose but i cant prise it out.

Do i remove the lens only or the holder?

Anyone know? looking a quick answer Such a simple task as i remember although i don't remember how

on the mk2 it just pulls out of the bumper and twist the bulb holder and change dunno bowt mk1 should be similar all number plate lights are if not itll unscrew

On the mk1 the lights are on the boot and do not pull out (i dont think - or at least i cant pull em out)

Got police curtion for having the light out - not while driving though.. so i think unoffical warning, still cant seem to change the light bulb

To be fair mate its not gonna be rocket science, just take the screws out & jiggly juggly till the holder comes out, swap the lamp then re-fit it & tell us all how smart you are!

Ha Ha, i can honestly say i did try that, i tried pulling and forcing it out with screwdriver, but i cant shift it

I know how silly this whole topic sounds hense the jokes

Would be worse if taken to police station or court coz i couldn't change alight bulb

Seems the reason mine's not coming off it because it's partly melted :doh:
