Damn starter motor went today, was happily driving to asda turned engine off, went inside then came back out, turned key and *click*. Thought it might have been my battery but radio could be turned on and electric windows were working...
Went to a "Mally's" scrapyard at about half 4 and they said they just shut, just my luck...
Anyways i'll get one after work tomorrow, just thinking is it just 3 bolts and it's straight out then bolt the new one in?

Try and start the engine with the headlights on. See if they dim or not as you crank the engine. The battery can still give enough power to work all electrics at once but not enough to start the car

Car still starts when headlights are on, managed to start it before to go get some cash out to buy a motor tomorrow. Didn't need to bump it which was a bit strange, not looking forward to morning though...

An intermittent fault may just be a dirty or loose connection on the battery terminals or earth cable?

It's been playing up for awhile though, makes an odd noise when trying to start. My fault for not changing it sooner.
