Hi all, my 55s 94 model occasionally holds back when accelerating ie under load very noticable in 1st and 2nd ie when pulling away etc (feels like its only running on 3 cylinders)then it will suddenly picks up and take off like a scolded cat!! tickoverfine, starting fine, not using water and oil is clean i have replaced plugs and leads and one of the coils (no improvement)and subsequently swapped over coils (still no different) any thoughts or suggestions welcome, from worried female!!!

did you swap the right coil if you loosen the ht leads where the join to the coil(whilst engine is off) the using some insulated pliers( i used plastic kitchen tongs) and then start the engine and lift a ht lead at a time slowly and give a small gap small enought so you can see the spark. the sparks should quite strong. do the same with all leads and if 2 sets are showing a bad spark replace that coil remember to remove the battery negative whilst replacing the coil for about 10 or more to reset the ecu. i hope it help and be careful of the electric as the coil changes the voltage from 12volts to 35,000 volts. so make sure nothing is in the way if it zaps you. it hurts

billy

let me know how it goes or if you need more help

Thanks Billy,Ive run with both coils and the new one without any change in the int.misfiring condition ill check the spark as u suggest
