Hey guys hardly had any trouble with the car since I was last active on here thankfully. But something has started to bug me lately.

When I start the car up (on a warmish day) and I first begin to accelerate in 1st gear and in 2nd (a lot when the car struggles up hill) there is a clicking or tapping sound coming from the front drivers wheel. The car is fine when it is driving on a straight at a consistent speed it is just at acceleration in 1st and 2nd.

Much help would be appreciated

Cheers

Firstly whip some new spark plugs in and secondly get a new air filter sounds clogged up to me if you cant climb a hill... as for the wheel it could be anything from a stone jammed in the wheel to the metal thing behind your disk could be rubbing etc you need to just check it out

How loud is this tapping / clicking noise from the wheel?
Can you hear it over the radio for example?

If you can hear it over the radio (on a reasonale volume) then you should check that all the wheel nuts on that wheel are done up. - Make sure that you do them up in opposites(y)

Other wise brakes or drive shafts may be at fault(n)

Just occured to me, Do you have alloy wheels or plastic caps over the wheel?
If you have plastic and they are held on by cable ties then the cable ties should be sretching when you accerate & hit the brake thingy

If I got radio on a low volume I can but generally when I got it on in full force with subs going then no. Will check the wheel nuts in a bit and I don't think brakes could be at fault they were changed at last MOT in Feb only done about 1000 miles since then and I think the noise has been there before then.

Will give the drive shafts a check and pull out the good old haynes manual

Btw do you have any idea where I can get cheapish locking nuts? MOT place lost mine

And got alloys :)
