have you lowered your car?? if not they should not rub only on the back maybe when you have a full car

that should be ok i had 16 inch on 60mm drop full shocks and springs and it only rubbed when car was full

yh, ive lowered it 50mm, if 17 wnt fit on lowered.. how about 16?

17s fit when lowered 50mm on 205/40s

would it br about the same on a mk1 punto? and ive been told if i put 17's on, or even ne size of the alloys i want that i woould have to have some mod's done... the alloys are 7J, what mods would need to be done?

My wheels are 7j x17 so no mods are necessary if you use a 205/40 on 17s but If you are going to put rims that big get the car lowered or it will be stuck up in the air looking like what comes out the backside of a pig :yuck:

Consider 16s, I took those rims off when I got it as the car looked silly and I got a more suitable set of 16s for my car :)

ahh, went to a motor shop and they said size 17" rims wont fit my mk1 because its lowered by 50mm

You've been told a load of donkey excrement (n) ive seen a corsa b on 18s once!!! The springs dont affect the bottom of the suspension strut to tyre distance the profile of the tyre does that and thats why theres low profiles for this purpose. Lowering affects the height and handling, you may need spacers but 17s will fit :) theres a mk1 going round the local town, its dropped to the floor on 17s with the wheels under the arches, ill see if i can track the owner down and get him to put some pics up.... :D
