Hi people... Hoping that someone can help me... I have a Fiat Punto 60 sx and when I have the engine ticking over with some electrics on - i.e: Stereo, lights etc - After a while, smoke starts to emerge from the starter motor... All the electrics work fine tho and the car starts fine every time... I think its a short but I don't know where to start! Anyone know anything I can try without taking it to a garage where they'll screw me over like a skint smackhead in a car park.

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bike. Then I realised that The Lord doesn't work that way, so I stole one and asked him to forgive me.

Maybe its getting stuck, diconnect the wires and see if it does it then, if it does'nt then its an electrical short (maybe the wires are touching) if it does smoke you may need a new starter motor.
