Just wiring my central locking, wondering which is the live and earth on the cig lighter? There is a red,black and yellow+black wire... I am assuming black is earth and red is live? Just need to check before I splice them though.. Cheers:slayer:

yep, the remaining one is for illumination. Are you sure this is a perminant live feed though, not ignition live? I know for sure on the MK2 its only an ignition live... this might answer your problem in your other thread about the C/L not responding

No sir, it is a constant live. We have the same car and I wired mine up to the cig lighter

Did it even actuate, the solenoids, can you hear a noise?
What about the two wires, that you can wire up to a switch, i beleive them to be white and brown, you didn't connect them up did you?

I just left them loose? Would the other 2 actuators need to be connected to complete a circuit?
