General Fixing Mk1 door mirror?

The drivers side door mirror on my punto has recently decided to break off so instead of getting a whole new mirror i just tried to araldite the two metal pieces that had come away from each other. It lasted about a day until they broke away again so my question is, is there any other way i can fix it back on?

If not i'll just have to spend a few quid on a new mirror.

I would have actually had that but i stopped off at a local scrappy today and he sold me one for a tenner. Thanks for the offer though
