Ok so my first car was a punto-selecta i crashed that a few weeks back but will be getting it back from the insurance place tomorrow.
I want to swap a few things from it for my new punto the punto s.

Few things im unsure about are the seats i want the front seats as there more comfortable and have height adjustments. (not that i need to go higher but lower :D)
So are the front seats a direct swap?

I also want the fog lights any ideas how to wire them up to a punto s?

Can anyone else think of anything worth swapping from the selecta to the punto s... The selecta is basically like the highest spec interior mk1 but with black bumpers (n)(n)

How easy would it be to swap the steering so i can have adjustable steering? So i can put the steering wheel lower cos its way to high now. :bang:

Anyways any help much appreciated thanks.

Seats will be the same rail size, 4 bolts, 2 at front and 2 at the back should do it.

Fog lights may be alot of work a swap bumper, I aren't sure as I haven't tried it and theres nothing in the guides, searching might help but I aren't sure.

And without a list of differences it's hard to tell what to swap as I can't remember the difference atm, steering column swap would probably score a 4/5 difficulty if I could get to my Haynes, have you got one? Might be worth seeing what that says if you do :)

I thought the seats would be ok like.

Theres holes in my bumper where the fog lights go there's just like a plastic cover over it, its wiring them up thats what im puzzled about.

As for the steering i gave it a thought and it would be too much of a job to undertake myself i don't have enough confidence to even attempt it myself.

I haven't got the car back yet unsure of when i will but think when its back i'll have a better idea of what to swap. :D:p

Thanks for the reply.

I think the bumpers are moulded and get cut out, I'l have a proper search tomorrow but my 'use the search function' head is fast asleep!

The centre console inside would need the extra button adding or swapping totally, aren't sure on that personally as I haven't pulled mine about at all.

Oh ri i thought that they were only covers i'll check in the morning myself lol (y)

As for the button it is possible to add another one dont think i would though think id place it somewhere else i dunno where but sure i could think of somewhere :D:D

Button wise: I haven't dismantled mine, I would imagine it is possible to mod them but don't try and hold me to it :p

I'd try checking out moding/swapping consoles first tbh before making holes in things!

The selecta i have has the buttons so i will try n swap them as soon as i find out a way to wire it all up lol

Might end up trying to trace how the Selecta does it and copy that tbh

Yeah thats a good idea probably going to be more work then expected but shouldn't be to bad.. i cant believe searching the forum and google hasn't turned up much for me :( everything i found so far is for newer model puntos (n)

Wire em up to full beam if you dont use em very often is a quick fix but not very appropriate, just remember to cut the wires at MOT time though

Im planning on making a fog lights guide today so keep an eye out (y)

Ive seen it thank you very much (y)(y)

I managed to get the driver seat out of the selecta i haven't fitted it yet didnt have time will tomorrow so going to hopefully wire up the fogs and get the seats in.

Also im swapping the speedo's so i can have a rev clock and temp gauge theres guides on the forum on how to do it but i think i need pictures because im unsure about somethings :confused: but going to see what i can do tomorrow.

Thanks for the help

just checking before you fitted seats, :)

some late 60s have all the wireing in place for fog lights, get under an have a look, if so you just change switch pannel an they work

dont forget your powder clutch and gearbox from the selector is worth a few hundread quid ;)

I cant put the passenger seat in as one of the bolts is rusted to the floor :(
I have the driver seat in and its much better driving now (y):D

The wiring for the fogs wasn't there but i can wire it up following the new guide.. a soon as i get a new left side fog light because the insurance place removed the bumper lights and everything on the front to check the damage and wrecked the light on me :doh:

And dave the owner of the crash repair place were my car was told me then same he said the gearbox is worth €300 to €400 but also told me no breaker yard in the country wants to take the car beacuse and i quote his exact words "they have to many punto's" even when he said its an auto box they still wouldnt because not many people would be looking for it.
