Hi guys, looking for a bit of help on this motor I have bought the wife.

Basically, when setting off in 1st gear and changing up into 2nd gear, the car just dies for a split second, then goes for a split second, and then dies again, and then goes again properly ??? It is very strange. The other night I thought I heard it misfire during this ritual.

I have noticed that if when I go from 1st to 2nd gear and there are at least 2000rpm's on the dial, it doesn't happen at all ??

I spoke to a pretty knowledgable guy last night and he seemed pretty sure it was the lambda sensor that was at fault ? Does that sound right ??

Any help would be much appreciated !

my intial thought was also a lambda sensor.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to have the lambda sensor replaced, as I think this is the course of my on going problems.

I have been ringing round a few places bazd123, and the cheapest I can get one for is £44, and that is one that comes with the sensor, wires and the plugs.

It seems a pretty good deal, so may just get it. Also I am told its not too tricky, and so may have a go at fitting it myself !![?]
