I'm trying to get the inner CV tripod bearing off the driveshaft of my Mk1 1.1 Punto. I have a puller and I have tightened it to what seems like a huge amount of torque (I suspect the puller itself may fail if I go much further).
Should I try heating it with the puller on? I am a bit scared of over heating and weakening the driveshaft? I can't really hit it with a hammer (my other thought) because I will destroy the outer CV joint in the process..
Any help much appreciated.
