Can anyone tell me if the the head from a 1242cc 8v punto 75 has the same cam, valves etc as the one on an 1108cc 8v punto engine? I have been told that there is a difference.
I would appreciate if anyone knows for sure.

Hello,

I´m new so still stumbling around.

I just posted a guide on how to fit a 1242 MK2 head onto an 1100 MK2 block. While doing the job I could see no difference at all between the camshafts nor any other valve parts. The car runs just like before, yet now holds water.

I´m not sure if it all got there, or was put into the right section.

Hope it helps.

P75 was a Mk1 engine (an early -- the earliest -- MPI design). You sometimes find P75 cams (always marked 866) on late Mk1 Punto 60 engines.

Later (Mk2) 1242 Puntos had a more sophisticated ECU (with cam sensor), MPI, manicat and a less radical cam than the P75 (they had to meet more stringent emissions regulations).
