As above - was the mk1 Punto Van available with a diesel engine only, or was there a petrol unit available as well?

Need to know for a potential future project... (y)

Hrmm. I swear I have seen a 1.2 petrol on ebay once, perhaps that was a custom thing (after a HG failure or whatever).

If it's only diesels available... how much more effort than a normal engine swap do you reckon it would be to swap a petrol in? I know my petrols but I'm not too familiar with diesels (horrible nasty tractors they are :D )

also pretty sure the van was only available as an oilburner.

could you not simply remove seats / get boot floor and remove rear windows / add in blanking plates? do it to a sporting and you have a reasonable balance of power / practicality...

Then there is a cracking little Grande Punto Van if finances stretch to it! :slayer:

Aah no not a Grande - it has to be a mk1.

I can't elaborate on the plan - it's top secret (y)

I would get hold of a sporting or GT and turn it into a van - but that's just not the same.
Plus vans are cheap as chips (sub-300 quid range) and sportings are generally a wee bit more. This is an on-a-shoestring just for laughs project so I don't want to commit too much cash to it (y)

let me guess rear mounted engine with rear wheel drive? that would be a project worth doing :p
