I do find it interesting to read everyones comments on the whole experience and treatment they receive from dealers, its a shame some of the big brass dont come onto forums like this to see how they can improve things..................

Anyway, if anyone's got any questions about anything to do with FIAT dealers (and please, try not to be too offensive ) ask away....I'll try and answer anything you need to know. bear in mind I'm a parts man so thats what i know most about, but i'll try and answer other questions too.

why doesnt fiat have more abarth bodykits in the uk, my local fiat garage said it would take a couple of months to get the kit in!!!

I have a question. I need to change the ignition coils in my MK1 1995 Punto. Is there a certain type I need to get, or will any fit??

you will need the right ones, you can get them from parts shops or motor factors, you don't have to fit fiat ones,
its not like the old days when all cars had the same round coil|)

He did say contructive comments but i agree Dealers mostly are out to make the most money as possible from the unsuspecting buyer / person in distress. Like saying i needed a new exhause system and manafold costing £400+ when my back box fell off. Got it fixed at an independent garage for £60 inc labour. As for fiat themselved never dealt with them and from what you say i dont want to[^]. If your stubborn and annoying enough the'll do what you want.

i agree with that, i took my car in for the recall brake pipes and they gave it back to me saying that my disks and pads need replacing, well thats funny cause about 3 weeks before i took it to them i had my pads changed, they are brand new, maybe thought cos im female and young i would tell them to do it, unfortunately for fiat, im not that stupid! The blonde hair doesn't reflect on the person's intelligence!

It's bad enough for people when they don't know much about cars, but being taken for a ride when you KNOW they're talking rubbish would send me raging!

iv got the new shape punto and had no end of problems, cam belt had to be changed, there was clunking comeing from the steering when reversed which seems to be sorted, ventilation unit dials have jammed up and have been waiting 4 months for part, door handle had to be replaced, revs are all over the place and tends to stall. creeking supension which as been sorted and now i have a whistling noise coming from the engine which seen to happen above below 45 miles per hour.
do you have any idea what the noise could be?
i know you a parts man but im sorting out some compensation from fiat so far they have offered a one year free service and a full tank of petrol. iv had the car 6 months now and still half of the problems are outstanding, do you no if i could get anything else out of them or get the car replced for a new one.

I've really not had any problems (and I don't want to say 'so far' but...'so far').

In fact, a squeeky cabin fan - that's about it.

well i did actually tell fiat that i would take my car into a local garage and get a second opinion as i couldnt see how they would need changing so soon. I then (after having it checked and knowing they deffinately didnt need changing) rang fiat and thanked them for their "check" over my car but i dont know where they got it from as they are brand new! I suggested they make sure it was actually my car they had checked and not someone else's!!

haha that is totally disgusting how they treat people expecialy them who dont know so much about cars. thats why i bought haynes manual saves £££ on servicing and simple repairs. got a good section on diagnosing problems before taking it to the garage to get there opinions which will cost alot more [V]
